This weekend I tried a different eyeshadow look, a warm copper with gold flecks and a rose pout. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I had a little extra time on my hands and felt free to get creative. Last week I basically lived in comfy sweats and pajamas and was anxious to blow dry my hair and doll up my face over the weekend. Makeup and jewelry are an instant mood boost for me, anyone else?
Typically, I stick with the brown and burgundy family for eyeshadow, but I forgot about a Too Faced palette I purchased called Tickled Peach. Sadly, this small palette is discontinued, but Sweet Peach is a similar option. Now keep in mind that the copper color palette looks fabulous with all hair shades and works particularly well with cool skin tones (those with pink, red, or blue undertones). However, by adding a touch more gold or bronze, the copper shades would be perfect for warmer skin tones (those with gold, peach, yellow).
Depending on your skin tone, I recommend adding a bit of bronzer. Apply as contour if you have a warmer skin tone. Apply across the bridge of nose, top of forehead, and cheeks for cooler skin tones. The bronzer will enhance the copper eye. Blush can either be a pink with golden flecks or a rich warm reddish brown. Be sure to apply at least two coats of mascara to create a stark contrast of color which will make your eyes pop! In sticking with all cruelty free and vegan products, I chose to Perversion black mascara by Urban Decay. Be creative with lips! A stain, cream, or matte product would work beautifully. I chose Power Move, a matte rose shade by Haus Laboratories.
Remember that there are plenty of copper options. See what you already have in your makeup kit and play around. Makeup is fun and now is the time to try something different and experiment. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Also, be sure to subscribe to receive our newsletter!
