I have been playing around with blush recently, creating my own shades and experimenting with texture. I found a consistency and formula that I absolutely love and wanted to share this simple technique with you!
Since summer is almost concluding and fall fashion and beauty styles will be here before we know it, I was inspired by a golden makeup look. A warm, sunset reminiscent palette of golds and orange based red.
To create this look, be sure to begin with an excellent skincare routine including your favorite primer. The cheeks and lips are the star of the show so eyes can stay simple. Apply the Fenty beauty freestyle highlighter in Metal Moon all over the lid and up to the brow bone. For extra drama feel free to tight line the lid with a black kohl eyeliner. You do not need to apply foundation if you are comfortable without, but I did apply Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation after my eyes were finished. Apply busy gal Brows tinted gel by Tarte to keep brows in place without adding too much product. To create long thick lashes first apply the Marc Jacobs velvet primer then two coats of major volume mascara in velvet noir. For beautifully bronzed skin, apply the Beached Bronzer by Urban Decay across the cheeks, top of forehead and across the nose for a naturally glowing look.
Grab your favorite orange based red lipstick. This works best with a matte texture. Take the C.O. Bigelow salve and apply a generous amount to the back of your hand. Heat the matte lipstick by rubbing on the back of your hand near the salve. Now mix together well using fingers. Apply evenly to the apples of your cheeks and along the cheek bone towards your temples, blending throughout to achieve that perfect flushed look. The skin appears dewy and healthy.
Complete the look with setting powder, I love the Laura Mercier translucent powder but you can use your favorite. Apply the same red lipstick used on your cheeks to your lips and voilà your sunset glow look is complete!
