Victoria Road, a fair trade designer brand was one of the features in the very first Sugarpeel Magazine: Deliberately Considerate and for good reason. Shannon Grewer and Megan Brosterman founded Victoria Road, an ethical and sustainable fashion brand born from the love of Pakistani craftsmanship. This eco-friendly brand with a stong ethical and environmental vision also happens to create beautiful, intricate and high quality fashion, capturing the attention of prestigious stores like Barney’s New York, where their children’s capsule collection is sold.
Head designer, Farina Naimat Ali incorporates the Pakistani fashion aesthetic with a deft hand, creating truly statement making pieces. My favorite for the Fall/Winter season is the jaw dropping Arda Blazer and Ella Skirt. A feast for the eyes in classic black and white houndstooth pattern with velvet trim and detail. The weight and quality of the material is perfect to keep warm during the colder months all while wearing a show stopping ensemble!
Here’s how I would style this stunning Victoria Road outfit.
Add a pair of black opaque bamboo tights by the sustainable clothing line, Thought.
Black glittery wristlet pouch in faux leather by Studio 33.
A pair of vegan pointed toe black heels by Beyond Skin, made with 100% recycled lining and a brand you will see featured in the spring 2019 issue.
Finish the look with a unique hair accessory. Tie in the velvet trim from the blazer with this black velvet bow clip by Violet & Brooks.
